These miracles were to erase doubts in the minds of those witnessing such events of Eesa's a.s. truth and to confirm his prophet-hood. Miracles also accompanied previous prophets as a source of confirmation to themselves against the peoples they were sent. Magic is again something that is on the rise along with Ancient Alien theories of evolutionist trying to explain existence and the universe. But, revelation carries the truth to the questions and theories they put forward on hypothetical opinions. Fortune-tellers, sooth-sayer, forseer, augur, magacian, pregnosticator, oracle, astrologer, palmist etc. also have used a variety of methods to mislead humanity claiming to understand or have the ability of seeing the unseen world. Mu'awiyah Ibn Al-Hakum as-Salamee (ra) said, "O rasoolullah s.a.w. veriy there are some people among us who visit oracles." The prophet s.a.w said, "do not go to them". Abu Hurayrah (ra) and Al-Hasan (ra) said, "rasoolullah s.a.w. said", "whoever approaches a soothsayer has indeed disbelieved in what was revealed to Muhammad (saw) (himself in the manner meaning the Quran)... Astrology Tanjeen=najm=star Their are those who believe that the stars and the celestial bodies have influence on human life [the prophet s.a.w said, " whoever acquires knowledge in the sciences of astrology has in fact learned a branch of magic". ] astrology violates tawhid Asma-wa-sifat by attributing divine decree and other attributes of the creator to the creation... Surah Al-Burooj in the Quran is often used as a means to refute the prohibitions of astrology namely ayat 97 as well as Surah Al-Nahl ayat 16...However, these ayat are specifically for the cause of navigation in the sea and across the open desert. This usage is specifically for navigation and isn't being used to answer the unseen or prediction... Typically there are two categories of magic.
But the Jinn do not offer their services for free...!!!

وَلَمَّا جَآءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ مِّنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ مُصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَهُمْ نَبَذَ فَرِيقٌ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْكِتَٰبَ كِتَٰبَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَآءَ ظُهُورِهِمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (١٠١ And when a messenger from Allah came to them confirming that which was with them, a party of those who had been given the Scripture threw the Scripture of Allah behind their backs as if they did not know [what it contained]. It was not Solomon who disbelieved, but the devils disbelieved, teaching people magic and that which was revealed to the two angels at Babylon, Harut and Marut. But the two angels do not teach anyone unless they say, "We are a trial, so do not disbelieve [by practicing magic]." And [yet] they learn from them that by which they cause separation between a man and his wife. But they do not harm anyone through it except by permission of Allah. And the people learn what harms them and does not benefit them. But the Children of Israel certainly knew that whoever purchased the magic would not have in the Hereafter any share. And wretched is that for which they sold themselves, if they only knew. And this is the distortion of the Jews attributed to Sulaiman a.s. (solomon) on the concepts of magic. The Talmud is thus the book they have replaced the original teaching given to Musa a.s.. Magic has been used for a variety of different reasons, one of the most prominent is to serve worldly ambitions. Magic and Miracles have sometimes appeared in the same likeness to onlookers; however miracles have an element that can't be produced by magic as was the case of Musa a.s. against the magicians. When Musa a.s. threw his staff it become a real, living organism (snake), and the magicians knew that when they witnessed it... So the sciences of Tawhid (oneness in Allah without partner, son etc.) worshiping the creator alone is far more than just word utterance but requires within itself a very deep understanding. Tawhid Uluhiyyah (or Ibadah), Tawhid Rububiyyah (dominion for the creator), and Asma-wa-Sifat (his names and attributes are his alone and nothing shares in the same)...and each of these three branches goes into a vast ocean of understanding of things which go against it such as the subject matter of this particular blog...La ilaha illlallah (their no go but Allah, or in the sense of tawhid we add also "none (including in-animate objects) worthy of worship"...This is the completeness upon the One-ness of the creator! and Allahu alim |
