So why were there not among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth - except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals. And your Lord would not have destroyed the cities unjustly while their people were reformers. And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ.[Al-Hud 11:118] إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ ۚ وَلِذَٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ ۗ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, "I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together." And each [story] We relate to you from the news of the messengers is that by which We make firm your heart. And there has come to you, in this, the truth and an instruction and a reminder for the believers. And say to those who do not believe, "Work according to your position; indeed, we are working.[Al-Hud 11:121] وَانتَظِرُوا إِنَّا مُنتَظِرُونَ And wait, indeed, we are waiting."[Al-Hud 11:122] وَلِلَّهِ غَيْبُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ ۚ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ And to Allah belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do. [Al-Hud 11:123] Amma baad...{as to what follows} As'Salaamu Alaykum rahmatullahi wa baraktu We bear witness that there is no God worthy of Worship except Allah without partner, and bear witness that Muhammad s.a.w is the last prophet/messenger from a long chain of 124,000 prophets/315-320 messengers who brought abrogated (Naskh) laws in which he (with Quran) is the last... They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided." Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth, and he was not of the polytheists." Say, [O believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." Recycling of History through denial We are surrounded by ways of Ignorance and deliberate misguidance that infiltrates every aspect of life...The deepest of those aspects is our testification of faith. Man has been entrusted with a great trust, a trust which has a directly proportional effect on our lives. Although many will find understanding with uttering the "shahada" {testification of faith, we often fall short of the many branches that spread out from the source. Like a tree and its canopy the testification is meant to spread out over the entire earth. This canopy envelopes the understanding of Allah's Rububiyyah {Lordship & dominion}, Uluhiyya {singling him out in worship alone, through obedience], and Asma-wa-Sifat {Understanding the creator through his names and attributes and not ascribing them to created things}. This brings us to our current most day in age which mimics something of the 1st generation in the Prophet's (saw) time... And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they would surely say, "Allah." Say, "Then have you considered what you invoke besides Allah? If Allah intended me harm, are they removers of His harm; or if He intended me mercy, are they withholders of His mercy?" Say, "Sufficient for me is Allah; upon Him [alone] rely the [wise] reliers." [39:38] As it was with the pagan Arabs when the Prophet (saw) arose from among them, they to when asked replied, "Allah, Allah, Allah" when asked but unfortunately this was only recognizing Allah's Rububiyyah {Dominion} while at the same time falling short of the other two branches. Furthermore, then like now as man worsens under his own ignorance/arrogance, our testification lacks making Allah (swt) and his prophet (saw) judge in ALL affairs of life through is guidance as he has bestowed upon mankind through his permissions, prohibitions, and ways of judging all matters. Most of us fail to understand completely the political application and method of what transformed a way-ward people given to their own desires in transformation of themselves and the world in a very short period.... As i mentioned, our environments are run over with Jahiliyyah {ignorance/ a time that reflects not having the Quran}, people's beliefs, ideas, habits, art, rules, laws; this Jahiliyyah has also penetrated into Islamic sources, Islamic philosophy, and Islamic thought which has given birth to many variations of innovations and unaccepted practice. This has come about through pollution of the pure source, by mixing & abandonment of the benefits we hold, as a result Islam still fails to enter completely into our hearts raising us to a near caliber of our predecessors... In the time of the first generation {those present with the revelation of Quran} the Quran was the source of instruction that the companions clung too. During this time there was no Sunnah {prophetic traditions} as we know it today {they naturally followed, asked or were corrected by the prophet (saw), they were instead addicted and clinging to the Quranic instruction that was prescribed methodically by Allah as he saw best to transform a Jahil people to that of righteousness & goodness. The methodology of Allah is something that should be followed again today, as our time is very similar to theirs in many ways. Upon recognition of our choices and Allah's favor upon us we should then call for a renunciation of jahil environments, its customs, traditions, ideas, and concepts...replacement of polytheism views back to the Oneness of God, which promotes his sovereignty first & foremost and the liberation of mankind in servitude to man... Tawhid Oneness of Allah {tawhid, which embodies Rububiyyah, Uluhiyyah & Asma-wa-Sifat} was a method given by Allah upon the Prophet that was conveyed over a 13yr period otherwise known to be the Meccan period and the revelations that were conveyed during this period. This surat {chapters} comprised of 1. Tawhid- because of decent to Idol worship...In comparison to today this would also help to shatter of systems put in place by man such as his Racism, Nationalism, & Class-ism systems that make men slaves of other men. 2. Salah_ Prayer...Jibreel (as) taught the prophet (saw) the method of prayer after salah was prescribed on him during Al-Isra wa Miraj. Prayer accompanies tawhid and marries the utterance with action. 3. The Unseen- the signs of creation, Jannah {paradise}, Jahannam {Hell-fire}, Malika {angels}, Resurrection with judgment, and rewards were all concepts that were allude to in the Quran often by argumentative statement or questions that Allah ask man to reflect on to open his mind toward the existence of Allah. 4. Allah's Existence 5. Challenges- since many people like to question the validity of the Quran; Allah puts forth challenges for anyone to create chapters that would rival it...Knowing man cannot, he reduces it to merely verses in production which NONE can because of the many, many miracles that lie within proving its divine source. The same features of Meccan surat find another place of re-application in our time today. Unfortunately, this is the human failing that never changes and has in fact always been a condition of correction for him as Shaitan {satan} re-invents his deception in every age in order to mislead humanity. The Meccan period explained to man the secret to his existence, the universe, it explained to man who he was, where he came from, what his purpose is, and where he will return in the end. Furthermore, it explained the tangible world & and allowed him to contemplate on Who Allah is through his names/attributes and his creation...Over 13yrs character and faith was being built on these five principals, until Allah (swt) knew that faith was firmly seated within the hearts of the people who would spread his religion throughout the world. The Call against Oppression/Tyranny During the time of the prophet (saw) the Arabs weren't in control of their wealth, in the North Syria was under Roman Rule (Byzantian Empire} who appointed local Arab rulers to deal with their own people; In the South Yemen was under Persian rule also with appointed Arabs rulers under them to handle daily affairs. It was only the areas of Hijaz {Mecca wa Medina}, Tihama, and Najd that the Arabs were in control over, but these areas were waterless, arid places. It's interesting to recant history because we see now the same sort of squatting of puppet leaders in the Muslim lands again today, replaced after Islam's last defeat & corruption that has been planted in order to keep it from re-emerging. However, the Prophet (saw) wasn't called upon to use his Noble lineage of being from Banu-Hashim ul Quraysh ibn Isma'il (as) ibn Ibrahim (as) to call the people to Nationalistic resistance towards the oppression that was upon the holy lands at the time. Nor was he used to promote racism, or class-ism that was also prevalent because this would only be an effort to remove one form of tyranny with another...Instead he was called upon and promoted to the task of purifying the earth...the earth that belongs to Allah...La ilaha illallah there is no God but Allah in worthiness of worship, and man is a slave {servant} to Allah the creator not to man nor to the systems he subjects too for control. This is the political side of La ilaha illallah...Man's grouping of men according to color, language, ethnicity, country, class were all based on his become a servant to other men. Islam was the call of grouping men on the basis of faith, and that faith was the recognition of Allah's sovereignty and the establishment of his law in all the land. Then as now the monopoly of wealth lies in the hands of a small few, and social justice cannot come about until ALL submit to the will of Allah’s laws. Until the society will continue to be divided on the Have’s and Have Nots and un-relinquished privilege obtained from colonization and slavery which has morphed into more greed, while the poor burn with envy and other hatreds. Society is thus determined by the gun, fear and threats to break the people of the spirit to resist which is the reason why oppression should never become something in which Islam seeks to compromise with or accept. What is the condition of the people today? It seems to be striking similar... The term radical is coined behind this very concept of maintaining control…Only those who are in control today are afforded the right to the use of “VIOLENCE”, while everyone his is supposed to turn the other cheek in acceptance. Whenever a group turns to answer the language of violence with resist to it they actions are deemed radical, in which the smear campaign is launched to accompany them with bad, one sided press. What Muslims should never fail to remember is that what they call “Radical” is what is the Sunnah and pure teaching of Islam by the Nabi, and what Allah revealed unto him. Man was not created to be oppressed by other men, nor to serve other men in the same capacity that we are to recognize our lord. Patience Patience is a virtue something my mother would always say to me, but also something that I didn't quite understand. That lack of understanding sometimes left me unable to inquire through a proper question...nonetheless it was something that resonated between the ears and contemplated until the wisdom of those few words began to open up. By Allah, the Quran continues to open these wisdom's that lie behind the subtle word of "patience". During the Meccan period the Quran was the source that solved all problems, corrected belief and reignited faith. However the Quran didn't present such abilities through theory or theological preaching; instead Allah has made it a natural appeal upon human nature, which provokes man to give thought. For anyone truly in the business of finding out the truth, its quenches that thirst for him/her while providing much more. The style of theology finds with Islam opposition because Islam is practical through instruction, obedience and application through action. Unlike the latter generations that followed the companions (ra) the first generation was driven by this methodology until Allah saw them fit to implement action {which was the hijrah and established state in Medina}; the latter generations benefited from the earlier struggles made and where then more so inclined to scholastic efforts. Today, the Islamic system has fallen again due to Muslims becoming overly complacent with worldly benefits and spoils that Allah opened upon the Ummah {nation of Muhammad s.a.w}. It is by the community that faith is further strengthened, practical organization of separation with cultivation through struggle that instilled patience, which in turn brought the successes of the first generations lasting on past the death of the prophet (saw). A significant reason behind the community is that it provides the necessary provisions for the Muslims to get through the various stages of faith like those of the Meccan period who went into seclusion with the prophet-hood of prophet and enabled them the qualities of establishing a state when Allah saw them fit. It is otherwise regarded error to think that Islam can evolve by abstract theory limited to intellectual learning and cultural knowledge. For example, all the many lessons we hear about the stories of the companions (ra), and those of the early scholars are needed and beneficial; however the redundancy of hearing them without teaching the implementation and mimicking the actions of those we learn about, then how far is this intellectual knowledge going to go? Another way of looking at this is a Doctor doesn't spend all of his/her time in studying without along the way having hands on practical experience accompanying their academic lessons. Lastly, when they finish they go into the practice of medicine where they then apply what they have learned, not do they sit idollally by nor do they go into other professions neglecting medicine. Even for our learned, the early scholars were engaged against the wrongs of their times politically which gave rise to the sciences we learn today. The difference is they {the early scholars then applied that knowledge}, where many today don't....Islamic belief therefore takes shape of living souls through applied action. This is the character of our religion, and the methods Allah used on the earlier generation during the Meccan period and Allahu Alim {Allah knows best} that we should repeat... And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided. [3:103] Wisdom of Parchment in Revelation And with the truth We have sent the Qur'an down, and with the truth it has descended. And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.[17:105] وَقُرْآنًا فَرَقْنَاهُ لِتَقْرَأَهُ عَلَى النَّاسِ عَلَىٰ مُكْثٍ وَنَزَّلْنَاهُ تَنزِيلًا And [it is] a Qur'an which We have separated [by intervals] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively. [17:106] 1. Steadying the prophets (saw) heart 2. Gentleness on the Prophet (saw) in a great task 3. Gradation in legislation 4. Facilitating the preservation of the Quran {Allah's method} 5. Dealing with problems as they arose, which much become a part of the seerah {biography of the prophet s.a.w} 6. lastly, it served as a proof to its divine source since many times many chapters were not sent in order nor verses in chronological order, yet the Quran didn't fail in becoming what it was intended to be. This interval facilitation allowed the existence of the Muslim community and then State to come into existence. If the Quran had been revealed all at once on a people who were taken to their own affairs & illiterate, although aware of Allah but ignorant to prior scripture with the exception of a few; perhaps the Quran as a whole would have been largely treated as they reacted to the prophet (saw) initially and over time forgotten or dismissed much like the previous books which were altered then forgotten. Allah's Sunnah of facilitation is thus eternal and becomes the divine stratagem by which we obtain divine guidance in the same manner as the 1st generation during the 13 years of the Meccan period and its selected chapters/verses that solidified faith; but when Islam is focused upon theory ONLY this methodology is overlooked and we suffer as a result. The divine methodology {which is Allah's Sunnah} has a far better effect, longer lasting adaptations of its practicality and it more closely appeals to human nature. {“O you who believe! Take care of your ownselves. If you follow the right guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who are in error…”} [al-Ma'idah; 105] Abi Tha’labah said: “By Allah, I asked the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه و سلم) about this. And, he (s.a.w.) said: “Rather, what this means is enjoin the good and prevent the bad until 1) you see people succumb to covetousness, 2) follow their desires, 3) become corrupted by the worldly life, 4) every one impressed with his own opinion, and 5) you see that there is nothing else you can do. {then he gives the guidance to what should be done} At that point, take care of yourself and don’t worry about the affair of the general populace, because there are indeed ahead of you days that require patience. Whoever is patient during those days will be like someone holding to a burning coal. And the one who does this from them will have the reward of fifty men who do what he is doing.” The Companions asked: “Messenger of Allah, the reward of fifty of those with him?” He said: “The reward of fifty of you.”“ (Abu Dawud, at-Tirmidhi, and Ibn Majah) In these times even amongst Muslims we might find that very few are on Haq, while the majority play the fence. Comfort has become an enemy to Islam, so while many claim Dawah, its only an excuse in doing absolutely nothing towards the MOVEMENT of Islam into tangible fruit bearing reality that Muslims can eat from literally, find refuge, shelter, free themselves from environmental influences etc. Desires and misguided behaviors Drinking, gambling, entertainment, and fornication was also a condition during the time of the early generation. In fact fornication was then also like now regarded in terms of sport and pride and the method of marriage was something that might surprise you if you are unfamiliar. A'Isha radiallahu anha [KITAB AL-NIKAH](THE BOOK OF MARRIAGE) describes the four types of marriages that were practiced.
This reliquishment of personal desires by which many of us become enslaved and or can't see beyond there absence in life is the reason why we don't fully rise to higher calibers in faith. Often disguised within our own ideas is the bridge that remains from the path of ignorance that has brought us to guidance. As a result we continue to go back on forth over the bridge from one condition to the other struggling between al-nafs amarah {the self battles the commands of lowly desire which overpower him/her} and al-nafs lawammah {the self that recognizes its wrong and seeks repentance}. The latter is of course the better of the two and in' sha' Allah {god willing} the latter only gets strong by knowledge and constant struggle to retake what the desires have stolen from. This is the first battle of freedom that has to be won in order for the freedom that subjects society is won... From Tawhid all other principals emerge Islam is a system of divine guidance that extends into every facet of life, birthed from the Soverignty of Allah and the complete belief in his oneness, which is meant to then free humanity from the evil concepts of man's ideas. This enables us to purify our intentions and thus our deeds all become a form of worship that is fully inline with Allah's laws, hence the obligation of seeking truth and knowledge that brings each person into this blessed shading. Through la ilaha illallah within ourselves we then begin to see its manifestation into the society. Islam is a practical religion which carries with it direct application that is transformed into action by way of instruction, so it deals with issues that exist and isn't something by which is scrutinized by theory or hypothetical assumptions. All things, events, and affairs are under the knowledge of the creator, so to apply Islam in theory to hypothetical conditions is something that would push toward shirk fi asma-wa-sifat. However; divine laws would only be fruitful for those who have submitted to its judgments and rulings in repudiation of all other systems. Therefore there is a necessity that the faithful be autonomous and free from the shackles of insubordinate systems and the people who drive them. This is do-able where ever true brotherhood exist among Muslims. What is really needed especially today is the need of the pooling of resources and the efforts of Muslims in donations to areas of crisis is the need to turn to the acquisition of land that lie outside the urban areas where life can be cultivated to flourish. In other words, use the resources to build communities that Muslims could be offered refuge. Wallahi {by Allah} if we worked in similar fashion to the An-naml {the ants} then we would achieve unimaginable feats, and at the same time be worthy of Allah blessing for returning to our religion in the proper manner...Narrated by Abdullah ibn Umar (ra) heard the prophet (saw) say, "When you enter into the inah {which is a credit to a buyer & form of riba/usury} transaction, hold on to the tails of oxen {metaphor of being complacent} are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad {struggle in the way of Allah}. Allah will make disgrace prevail over you and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion...[ sunan abi Dawud *Kitab Al-ljarah (wages)]...In the Meccan period the prophet (saw) was not yet ordered to hijrah {migration} while Allah was fortifying the faith into the believers, the autonomous state would come in the period of Medina and would serve as the capital from which Islam would spread throughout the world. However, this doesn't mean that we have again returned to a time where migration is not longer ordered...true legislative measure and police force make it something of difficulty today, but migration doesn't need to be to other countries...instead it should be considered in on the scale of rural areas where Muslims could build, acquire animals, and pool resources to autonomy could be sustained. Since the fall of the Ottoman's in the 1920's many Muslim reformers were calling the people to the countryside to help in preserving there Islam, by which many adhered. Their adherence was a blessed by Allah in helping to keep the majority of the lands Muslims. Today, from Morocco to Egypt and else where Ad'Dajjal {the anti-Christ his system prior to his emergence} is calling the people back to the city, where they are then polluted into losing the most valuable thing they had...Islam. To new generations who have lost contact & love for the book of Allah it has reduced Islam to a level of ordinary human theories, which many also deny the divinity of the Quran attributing it to the prophet (saw) himself, or they fall into other forms of doubtful matters which leads to disbelief. Entering Islam is a hardship and preserving it is hardship, but through the hardship proves our sincerity...if it was as easy as many people often try to make it by watering down its purity or if it were something of a party then you would find more people willing to do it. So remember that the test are the proving our worthiness. Wisdom of Parchment in Revelation وَبِالْحَقِّ أَنزَلْنَاهُ وَبِالْحَقِّ نَزَلَ ۗ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا And with the truth We have sent the Qur'an down, and with the truth it has descended. And We have sent it down progressively.[17:106]
{“O you who believe! Take care of your ownselves. If you follow the right guidance, no hurt can come to you from those who are in error…”} [al-Ma'idah; 105] Like other great works, often during times when they are done, the message it delivers is so profound it over reaches the hearts & minds of its intended audience...Today, the majority of Muslims practice/follow cultural Islam, which is something that is formed by the traditions of parental, and cultural influences. This adaptation is far from the pure source and creed of the beloved Prophet (saw). Since then it has been labeled the "Source" of radicalism...but if you take the time to read this well written 83 pg book, you will indeed be lead to a broader understanding of the political application of Islam, and how it mimics the 1st generation during the time of the Prophet s.a.w...This isn't a call or something that calls for extremism; instead it is a formatted outline to the sovereignty of the individual through recognition of the sovereignty of the creator. This is in adherence to purpose of our creation...man's system historically has gather mankind according to racism, nationalism, capitalism, and class-ism where Islam has no ism...it gathered mankind on faith...From faith the world has never in its history been so quickly transformed with as much success as what came with Islam...
